Jon Hayes, Head of Network Delivery for Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) has confirmed that IGO (the 89 bus),the Ring & Ride (including Taxi Bus) and ATG Holdings (parent company and asset holder) has gone into receivership with immediate effect (25th March 2019).
The service will continue to operate in the coming days and for this week (at least) the blue bus will continue alongside the 89 service.
All disabled and vulnerable residents across the West Midlands region receiving Ring & Ride service will be affected by this news.
For Hampton-in-Arden and Catherine-de-Barnes it means a new provider needs to be contracted ASAP to secure the 89 service and blue bus. The alternative operator will have to buy into the uniqueness of service 89 and feeder bus due to flexible routing zones serving Meriden, Hampton, Balsall and Berkswell.
Please be aware that there may be some disruption and irregularity in the services provided over the coming weeks. Jon Hayes is tasked with moving the remainder of ATG contracts to other service providers across the West Midlands, finding alternative operators. We will keep you up to date with news as and when we receive it.
