Many residents will be aware of the recent Call for Sites exercise where landowners were given the ability to put forward sites that they felt were suitable for residential development.
The closing date for submissions was 31st January 2025 and the Council are now evaluating all submissions with the intention of creating a portfolio of sites earmarked for potential development in the next local plan.
We believe once this evaluation process is finished details of the site being earmarked will be the subject of a public consultation before any are ultimately designated as suitable will be included in the next Solihull Local Plan .
One extra ingredient in the mix, however, is the new land designation. Grey Belt has been devised by the current Government to enable planning to be granted without the usual Green Belt caveats.
At this stage we have not been able to establish how Grey Belt will be differentiated from traditional Green Belt so it is difficult to establish at the moment what local land might fall into this new category
As soon as we have been able to establish this, we will arrange to communicate the relevant information throughout the Parish .
In the meantime, the link below will take you to the results of the Call for Sites exercise
