A meeting took place between Network Rail and village residents on 9th June 2016 in order to understand why the relaying and drainage works promised for Station Road as part of the unwelcome tree felling in 2014 had still not taken place. Residents were angry and felt cheated that the pain of losing the trees had not been compensated for as promised.  Network Rail fielded a senior team who admitted that residents had been badly let down and promised to keep us better informed in the future.

Surveying work is currently taking place on the embankment, sadly some of the hedgerow trees planted by the Network Rail along Old Station Road have been felled as part of this exercise.

Work is now planned to take place between February and September 2017.
