Berry Hall Lane
Proposed one-way working between Henwood Lane and Ravenshaw Lane, and 20 mph speed limit.
This proposal seeks to address the current conflict of two way traffic and vulnerable road users on this narrow rural lane. The road has few passing places for two-way traffic to give and take, and pedestrians from Newland Bishop Farm walk in the running lane (in the absence of proper footways) to and from Hampton Lane to catch their bus. Whilst a one way traffic flow will resolve some of the issues, conscious that it could promote an increase in vehicular speeds, we are also proposing a 20mph speed limit. As part of the scheme we would also introduce appropriate warning signs to remind motorist of the presence of vulnerable road users.
Field Lane (Lugtrout Lane)
Proposed one-way working between Lugtrout Lane and Hampton Lane, 20 mph speed limit and double yellow lines.
This proposal seeks to address the use of Field Lane as a short cut (rat run) by vehicles seeking to avoid queues on Hampton Lane at peak/busy times. Similar to Berry Hall Lane it’s a narrow rural lane with limited passing places.
Again, whilst a one-way traffic flow will resolve some of the issues, conscious that it could promote an increase in vehicular speeds, we are also proposing a 20mph speed limit. There is a secondary concern around unsuitable parking on Field Lane/Lugtrout Lane, associated with the football club/sports ground, which is addressed by the provision of double yellow lines.
