Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022
As you all will be aware the 2022 Commonwealth Games is being held in Birmingham. For some time now the Queen’s Baton has been travelling around all the countries of the Commonwealth. For the last week or so before the Games the Baton will be touring the various boroughs within Birmingham. This includes Solihull and in particular Hampton in Arden.
On Tuesday 26th July the Baton will pass through Hampton in Arden via Shadowbrook Lane and Meriden Road. The entourage will pause for a lunch break at the sports ground for an hour or so – timings are approximate but should be between 12 noon and 1 pm. We understand that the public will therefore be able to see the Baton at this time.
Please note that Shadowbrook Lane will need to be closed to allow the entourage to pass and it is likely that parking at the sports ground will be severely restricted.
